RMCC welcomes orthopedic surgeon
Greenville’s Regional Medical Center Clinic welcomed Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Sreenivasa Reddy Alla to their staff in June.
Dr. Reddy began his medical career at Gandhi Medical College in India in 1994 and came to the United States in 2008 to further his experience and career.
“The healthcare system is better here than it is in India,” Reddy said. “I came here because I wanted to learn and experience more.”
Dr. Reddy worked in orthopedics in several states across the country including Ohio, Arkansas and Virginia before being selected as Top Doctor in Jackson, Ken., by the International Association of Orthopedic Surgeons. Before coming to Greenville, he was the Chief of Surgery at the Kentucky River Medical Center.
“I have a lot of fellowship training,” Reddy said. “I’ll be taking care of the majority of injuries here.”
Dr. Reddy specializes in joint replacement surgeries, arthroscopic surgeries, fracture fixations and hand surgeries. He chose the medical field because of its optimistic outlook.
“It’s a rosy profession,” Reddy said. “You’re giving life back to the patients.”
Dr. Reddy had the opportunity to begin working at the clinic in November, but was delayed because of COVID-19 restrictions.
“By the time I got everything cleared, the pandemic had started,” Reddy said. “I didn’t want to delay moving any further.”
Dr. Reddy has enjoyed his time in Greenville so far and is excited for his family to join him once the pandemic is over.
“I’ve made friends and everyone’s been so nice and welcoming,” Reddy said. “It’s also close to India’s climate.”
He’s also excited to learn more about his co-workers and the Greenville community.
“It’s been great,” Reddy concluded. “It’s different with COVID and all of my coworkers wearing masks. It’s hard to learn faces.”
Dr. Reddy will focus on major joint problems and surgeries while at the Regional Medical Center Clinic.
